As some of you know, Susie is one of the Team Leaders for Etsy SK, and Shoebox Post is the result of creating a new shop to show others how to open their own Etsy shops in a workshop she taught at the Made In Canada sale this past Sept. Well Etsy SK will be having a Winter Pop Up Market this month on Nov 27th at the Saskatoon Farmers Market and Shoebox Post will be there! We are excited to show our collection face to face and talk about snail mail, post crossing, journaling and more.
We have been working hard creating envelopes, curating paper ephemera including, postcards, journal supplies and even ephemera packs! We have updated the shop with some new seasonal products and will be listing some new and exciting paper packs this weekend (when we can take pictures in natural light).
Got a great bunch of postcards this week from Russia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Gemany and Estonia! We will have our collections of postcards with us at the Etsy Market if you are interested in looking through them.
Instead of taking over the kitchen island, I moved all the Shoebox Post paper crafting up into my upstairs studio. Using my grandmas dining room table, I'm starting to set up my work area so that everything is in one place and I'm not adding more clutter to the household.
Added a few more items to the Etsy shop as well, including some more envelope packs, journal cards and finally some vintage ephemera!
Jeremy, Jenny and I also took a bit of a Sunday drive into the Qu'appelle Valley and brought back a nice selection of vintage postcards. The cheesy motor in ones are my favourites. These postcards are a gentle reminder of how good we have it now when travelling about with such things as wall to wall carpets, color TV, Air conditioning and even individual electric heat!
Jeremy and I spent much of the Thanksgiving long weekend making envelopes. They are so much fun! We made a bunch in different sizes and colour combo's, some double sided so there is an extra special surprise on the inside.
I also punched out a few embellishments with vintage images perfect for planners, decoration snail mail, junk journals, confetti, card making and more. There is something so soothing about punching paper. I did some paper shopping this past week so if you like you can keep up with Shoebox Post on Instagram
